Totally agreed, Graham, but targeted key phrases like "clit piercing" & "pierced clit" tend to generate sooo much more search engine traffic... ;~)

Hi,

for someone who should know her way round the human anatomy, you seem surprisingly unaware of what a clit piercing actually is. The link you give shows pictures of a clit hood piercing - NOT a clit.

The hood is the V-shaped fold of skin which protects the clit from continual stimulation and it's a great place for a visually effective piece of jewelry, but it's not the real thing...

Very few ladies can cope with having their clit pierced - mostly because it's too small or too well hidden in the flesh, but also because it's the most sensitive part of the body and continual stimulation from the jewelry quickly becomes tedious.

The most common hood piercing is with a short barbell which is positioned so the lower ball sits directly in front of the clit. This allows direct pressure to be put on the clit during sex which may enhance the experience.

Many women find the initial excitement quickly wears off and there is no significant change in the level of sensation, but it acts as a useful 'signpost' to direct their partner's attentions and does no harm, so they leave it in.

The male equivalent - the Prince Albert ring - works in a similar way, making a small difference to the physical side of sex, but serving as a focus for interest.

All piercings should be as thick as possible to reduce the risk of accidental tearing of the flesh if they get caught on something - my PA ring is 15mm thick for example - but it takes time to stretch the piercings beyond what they start at, so take the advice of a reputable piercer.

It's also important to use the right kind of non-allergenic jewelry and keep things clean, but unlike tattoos, you can always remove your jewelry if it's inappropriate, or you just get bored with it.

Female nipples are the most common piercings and will accept a wide variety of different types of ornament. Properly fitted nipple jewelry presents no risk to suckling babies and can be left in place during medical examinations and surgical procedures, so go for it!

The human body is a wonderful thing, but we all like to see it decorated to emphasise the best bits - who'd go out without their makup?
